How We Make Money
Transparency about our revenue model and editorial independence.
Everything on MoneyCrunch.ai Is Free
All of our financial calculators, guides, state tax information, and AI-powered explanations are completely free to use. There is no paywall, no subscription required, and no premium tier. We believe that everyone deserves access to clear, accurate financial information regardless of their ability to pay for it.
How We Generate Revenue
To keep MoneyCrunch.ai free and continually improving, we earn money through two primary channels:
Display Advertising
We display advertisements on some pages of our site through advertising networks. These ads are clearly distinguishable from our editorial content. Advertising revenue is based on page views and ad impressions — you do not need to click on or interact with ads for us to earn revenue, though some ad formats may generate revenue from clicks.
We carefully select advertising partners who maintain high standards for ad quality and user experience. We do not accept ads that are misleading, deceptive, or inappropriate for a personal finance website.
Affiliate Partnerships
When we recommend or feature financial products — such as credit cards, savings accounts, mortgage lenders, insurance providers, or investment platforms — we may include affiliate links. If you click on one of these links and take a qualifying action (such as signing up or applying), we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate links are always disclosed on the page where they appear, and they are marked with appropriate attributes as required by the FTC and search engine guidelines.
What This Means for You
Our revenue model is designed to align our interests with yours:
- We succeed when you find value. The more helpful our tools and content are, the more people visit our site, and the more sustainable our business becomes.
- We have no incentive to lock features. Unlike subscription-based financial tools, we do not withhold useful information to upsell you.
- Advertising and affiliate income fund improvements. Revenue goes toward maintaining our calculators, updating tax data, developing new tools, and covering server and infrastructure costs.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content and calculator results are never influenced by advertising or affiliate relationships. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not review, approve, or have any say over our content before it is published.
Our calculators use publicly available data from official sources like the IRS, state tax authorities, and the U.S. Census Bureau. The math is the same whether or not we have a business relationship with any company mentioned on the page.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal data
- We do not charge for access to any calculator or tool
- We do not let advertisers influence our editorial content or results
- We do not accept payment for favorable reviews or recommendations
- We do not use paywalls, gated content, or premium subscriptions
