Credit Utilization
generalDefinition
Credit utilization is the ratio of your outstanding credit card balances to your total available credit limits, expressed as a percentage. For example, if you have $3,000 in balances across cards with a combined $10,000 limit, your utilization is 30%. Financial experts recommend keeping utilization below 30%, and below 10% is ideal. It is the second most important factor in your credit score after payment history.
