Definition

A stock that appears to be trading at a lower price relative to its fundamental value, as measured by metrics like price-to-earnings ratio, book value, or dividend yield. Value investors believe the market has temporarily underpriced these stocks and that their prices will eventually rise to reflect true worth. Value stocks often belong to established companies in mature industries.
